WG B1.39 On shore generation cable connections

Olivier Moreau (FR) - 2011-2014

In the past, generators were mainly connected to the grid through overhead lines and the existing standards dealing with underground cables mainly addressed transmission links. Presently, generation units are more and more connected to the grid through insulated cable systems, from small wind farms up to very powerful units, in the range of 2000 MVA.

As the way to use these cable is different from the links on the grid, a full WG is considered useful to address the potential gaps in standards.
